Report: Stockout evaluation

Executive summary

The Stockout evaluation report identifies and subsequently analyzes the time period, when there was no available stock in the warehouse. It serves for the calculations of lost sales od specific items when stock is not sufficient. Thanks to this report it is possible: to evaluate the amount of lost sales and revenue due to stockouts and calculate service level, correct historical sales and prepare suitable inputs for sales forecast.

Functional description

The report is able to forecast how big amount of product would be sold in a selected time period (including seasonal goods and goods in promo). It can also calculate lost revenue and lost profits based on average purchasing price and sale price in the selected time period.

It may be configured in a way that it includes a certain percentage of lost revenue into data which is then used for demand forecasting. Stockout analysis also prevents diminishing sales forecast due to sales drop in times of a stockout.

A stockout is not only zero quantity of a given product in a warehouse, but also a level of stock lower than the average daily sales.
