Report: Turnover

Executive summary

The turnover report is used to evaluate the speed of inventory turnover. The report calculates the ratio of inventory to the ratio of sales, ie how many days of sale the average stock lasts. The calculation is based on monthly sales and can calculate turnover in quantity (units of measure) and value. When measuring turnover by value, we value sales and stack at stock prices.

Functional description

The user can choose whether to create a view of the entire stock or only a selected category (eg country, warehouse, product type), branch or warehouse or supplier. The report can also display indicators according to various lengths of intervals (month, quarter, semester, year) and period.

The user selects whether the report will display values in CZK, units of measure, or both.

Dependence on the selected path (tree hierarchy)

The report displays only items that are a subset of the selected path (tree structure), so it depends on the selected path. Although the filter in the report itself always offers the option to select all warehouses, categories, branches, …, after sending the form, it will display only the items located in the selected path. E.g. I have a specific category selected in the tree structure, but I will select other categories in the filter in the report, so nothing will be displayed in the result.

Outputs

After submitting the form, a chart of the development of turnover for the selected period, with values for selected intervals, will be displayed.

The chart shows curves for selected categories.

Depending on settings, a chart is displayed in value, quantity, or both.

The output includes a table with columns:

  • Selected category (branch, warehouse, country, product type, etc.)
  • Period
    • Selected period. Possibility to choose interval: month, quarter, semester, year.
  • Number of days
    • Expresses how many days the currently selected period has (eg the number of days in the month, in February, which has already ended: 28)
  • Stock (MU, CZK)
    • Average quantity / value of stock for the selected period.
  • Sales (MU, CZK)
    • Total quantity / value (in stock price) of sales for the selected period.
  • Turnover (MU., CZK) [Turnover]
    • A numerical indicator indicating how many times stocks are consumed and replenished during a given period. The measurement units in this column indicate the unit of measure of the value entering the turnover calculation.
    • Calculation: Number of days / Turnover time
  • Number of days of turn (MU, CZK) [Turnover time]
    • The number of days for which the average stock level is released (sold).
    • Number of days / (Sales in MU / Average stock in MU)

At the end of the table, there are rows with totals for the entire monitored period. They contain sums of stock and sales and calculation of turnovers and number of days of turnover.
