Module: Information cards

Executive summary

The Information cards give you a quick overview over important data for each (currently selected) item, category – or the whole company. How do you find out quickly what is the current stock on hand? What is the price and what is the value of goods in transit right now? And how many customers orders are currently going on? Exactly this kind of information you find here, in one place.

The information cards area is available at the top of the screen in Detail section, as shown in the picture below. It is possible to hide it, but we recommend to keep it displayed.

Functional description

On-hand inventory – The currently available stock on hand, both in value and quantity, i.e., in units of measurement [um].

Base stock – the quantity of stock at which it is crucial to order so that stockout is to be avoided. Base stock is always related to a supplier’s lead time or to a selected period, in which you want to order. It contains a component of both the uncertainties in supplier’s lead time and uncertainties in the sales forecast.

ABC and Service Level – A quick assessment on the item’s importance with respect to the ABC analysis. Moreover, information on the current availability of the selected item. In parentheses, there is the target service level (chosen by the company’s management).

Sale Price and Stock Price – Sale price, i.e., the actual average of the sale price. Stock price, i.e., the actual average of the stock price. The prices display alters after clicking on the card.

Orders Received – Orders received from customers, both in quantity and value.

Orders Issued – Orders issued to suppliers, i.e., orders in transit, both in quantity and value.

SMI – This optional card indicates Slow Moving Inventory – how often is the product sold (number of moths in which was sold / whole period in months).

Additional information

Besides the product identification, icons show other details of item such as sporadic sales or replenishment only based on direct customer order. Explanation is given in mouse-over tooltip.

The area is flexible and during the implementation, additional (and specific) functions can be added, for instance:

FA – So-called Fast adapt; the icon identifies that for the given item, a fast adaptation method was used (it is used for a flexible response to a changing demand for the item in the market).

Unusable stock: it is often useful as additional information, i.e., how much of the stock on hand cannot be used (due to poor quality, etc.).
