Module: Purchase as investment

Executive summary

This report suggests speculative one-time orders based on user-defined limits. The system generates a suggestion, that is saved and may be edited further.

Functional description

User access to the report may be configured. It is possible to set user rights, so that individual stores may see only suggestions of their respective items and could not generate their own suggestions.

If the user (store) confirms the order suggestion and exports it into company’s primary information system, any further possibilities to edit this suggestion are blocked.

The amount of every item may be manually edited in every suggestion and then set firmly - to prevent any changes during the next computation.

Purchase-as-investment report form:

Filter combination settings in the left part of the form (Suppliers, Stores) defines the shown information about all products that comply with specified settings (Selected products), in the right part of the form.

The user is then able to select products that will enter the calculation of optimal order list suggestion, by using | < | (add selected) or |<<| (add all) buttons. The the user selects Fulfillment type (as described below), Value, and then decides which price will be used for report calculation (stock price or purchasing price). If the user wants to include usually suggested orders by STOCK for a specified date into the purchase-as-investment calculation, the user needs to select this date. In other case, only orders for today remain to be included. Every purchase-as-investment suggestion may be named.

The buttons: | Save | - saves only the current form settings, no calculation is made. | Generate | - always deletes all changes and generates a suggestion for the options that are selected in the form. | Calculate | - takes firmly set values from the suggestion and adds further items according to the form settings. | Export into IS | - if export is implemented, then order suggestion is exported into customer’s ERP or another action is made (according to the implementation).

Fulfillment type has other options such as weight, pieces, volume and pre-set pallets, that have to be adjusted specifically.

Discount rate

• A discount rate from the supplier may be submitted; this discount is then used to decrease prices in the suggestion

Evaluation:

Suggestion evaluation is shown here. User may see how big discount in percents is necessary so that the purchase pays off with regards to the overstock that would be created by the suggestion completion.

Extensions

Fill the suggestion into MOQ: It is possible to switch on filling the suggestions into MOQ of the supplier and also into specific groups and limits that will not be used in the module Orders.

Access for stores: It is possible to adjust access levels for stores so that they only access their own suggestions.

Fulfillment types: It is possible to select any type of filling.

Product filters: For filtering based on supplier and stores, it is possible to add any level of the tree or product selection based on other product segmentation may be added

Evaluation: If WACC is filled in in product_locator, it is possible to switch on the suggestion evaluation. User-editable WACC filling may be added into the form.

Suggestion editing: It is possible to switch on product price editing, batch settings of amount for the product in all stores.

Discount: It is possible to switch on suggestion calculation immediately including discounts.
