Module: Suggesting of orders between warehouses¶
Executive summary¶
The present module Suggesting orders between warehouses is an additional module to the module Purchase orders. The module displays (and works further) with suggested distributions.
In this text, we consider suggested order, suggested order between warehouses and distribution /reverse distribution as interchangeable synonyms.
There are two options for working with the suggested orders between warehouses:
- You can work in the STOCK’s GUI on distribution screen directly. Within this screen, you select a required level (for which the distributions should be shown) from a tree menu – and the suggested orders are displayed. The displayed suggested orders can be added to the cart of distribution and the cart exported into the primary ERP system as a final order.
- We export all the suggested orders into the primary system as a part of nightly recomputation. Further, you can work with them in this system and only those suggested distribution between warehouses that were accepted are going to be exported to the STOCK system as a part of the recomputation. This method is neither a standard nor an automated one; the export of all the orders is an extension of the module.
Functional description¶
In the functional description, we focus primarily on the option (1), i.e., how to work with orders in the GUI.
Displaying suggested orders¶
The screen orders displays a list of all suggested orders, from the current date into the future, as a table. The displayed orders are always related only to the items under the selected path in the Module: Tree.
.
Basic filtering of orders¶
On the screen Orders, the following tasks can be executed:
- filter orders by order date or delivery date to a warehouse that the orders will be delivered into.
Make full use of containers¶
Similarly as with orders to suppliers, there is the possibility of exploiting containers. Making sure that the containers are full and particular settings of volumes works exactly the same way as in the module: Suggesting orders to suppliers.
Listing distribution¶
In the list of orders, the following columns are particularly important:¶
- N – an item marked as a New item (novelty).
- Source warehouse.
- Target warehouse.
- Delay – the duration of a stockout prior to the delivery; in days.
- Quantity – quantity STOCK suggests to order within the order.
- Quantity without respecting the minimum quantity (that is actually to be ordered, i.e., without rounding to packaging and without minimum order quantity).
- Basket – when selected, the order is inserted into an active basket.
- Purchase value – the total price of the goods in a given row of a given supplier.
- Order date – the date when (according to STOCK) the suggested order must be sent to the supplier.
- ETA – the date when the STOCK expects that the ordered goods becomes a part of stock on hand. It takes into account the lead time of the transport between the warehouses.
- Promotions – the suggested order covers a promotion.
Distribution - Basket¶
The basket is a tool the user uses to mark distributions for subsequent export. You can work with it within the tab Distribution – Basket.
Operations for the selected basket¶
In the section Distribution, various rows from the listing of distributions can be inserted into the basket.
Into the basket, you can also put bulk-filtered (or unfiltered) rows by the ABC category, and also rows based on filtering from a HTML table.
Gray basket: all suggested orders that comply with the ABC filter are inserted into the basket.
Light blue basket: all suggested orders that comply with the HTML filter from the listing of orders are inserted. Read more about the filtering in the module HTML Table.
Basket in the section Distribution – Basket¶
With the basket and the distributions inserted into it, you can work further in the section Distribution – Basket.
The table Content of the Basket distribution allows you to:
- edit quantity in the orders in the basket,
- export the content of the basket as a downloadable file,
- remove an order from the basket.
Automated export using data warehouse¶
As part of the standard functionality of this module, you can see data warehouse with suggested orders between warehouses. It is into the data warehouse where (after every night recomputation) the suggested orders get exported. More information can be found in the module: Data warehouse.
With this export, you can work with the suggested orders as you want, in particular, you do not need access to the STOCK’s GUI to read and work with the suggested orders.
Report Acceptance of the STOCK suggestions (orders between warehouses)¶
The report Acceptance is here for the user to check the percentage of the suggested orders between warehouses has been accepted.
The report is rather identical with the report Acceptance of the STOCK orders described in the module: Suggesting orders to suppliers.
The only difference is that it only works with STOCK suggestions and receipts to the warehouse. It, however, does not work with suggestions to re-storage that were not performed. The report Acceptance of the STOCK suggestions (for orders to suppliers) can work also with those orders to suppliers, that were not accepted.
Extensions¶
Export of suggested orders to the primary ERP from the basket¶
You can export orders from the basket to the primary ERP system automatically. Format, technical design and workflow of the export is always negotiated (and defined) during the implementation.
In practice, a new button will be added to the basket tab – and it will make the export happen.
Export of suggested orders to the primary ERP¶
If the automated export using data warehouse is not good enough for you, a special, tailor-made export to your system can be made, so that the suggested orders can be loaded into your system.
